Yesterday, we had the opportunity to host an engaging and insightful session at our office, led by Cosmin Vlăduțu, a seasoned full-stack developer and former team lead, known for his passion for building strong, high-performing teams. The focus of the event was a topic that sits at the heart of any successful organization: trust and motivation within teams, and how different individuals contribute to team dynamics.

The session brought together team members from across the company for a reflective and practical discussion on what truly makes a team work. Cosmin began by sharing lessons from his own journey in tech, emphasizing that beyond skills and tools, what defines a great team is a shared purpose, mutual accountability, and—most importantly—trust. These, he noted, are the foundations upon which effective collaboration is built.
One of the key takeaways from the presentation was the importance of core interpersonal skills such as self-awareness, adaptability, communication, and the ability to influence others constructively. Cosmin also highlighted the different roles people tend to assume in teams—planners, motivators, doers, mentors, and leaders—and how recognizing and valuing each of these contributions helps cultivate balance and synergy.
The discussion also touched on the various stages a team goes through, based on Tuckman’s model—from forming and storming to norming, performing, and eventually adjourning. Understanding these phases, he explained, enables teams to navigate challenges with greater clarity and resilience.
Overall, the session was a meaningful reminder that great teams are not built overnight. They grow through shared experiences, open communication, and a collective commitment to supporting one another. We’re grateful to Cosmin for leading such an engaging conversation, and we look forward to continuing to invest in the strength of our teams.
