Learn more about IT Outsourcing to RomaniaWe are seeking a highly skilled AI/ML Engineer to join our team in developing and optimizing an automated content moderation platform for a global leader in children’s digital experiences. This role offers an opportunity to work on cutting-edge AI solutions that ensure a safe online environment for kids while adhering to strict regulatory requirements such as COPPA, DSA, and GDPR.
Responsibilities:
Design, implement, and optimize AI/ML models for automated content moderation across text, image, video, and nickname submissions.
Evaluate and enhance model performance, ensuring accuracy and reliability in moderation decisions.
Develop systems for both auto-rejection of problematic content and auto-approval of appropriate user-generated content.
Build robust evaluation frameworks for assessing model quality and effectiveness.
Collaborate with engineers to improve moderation speed while maintaining compliance with child safety regulations.
Contribute to backend development efforts where necessary, integrating AI models within a scalable serverless architecture.
Work closely with human moderators, creating internal tools to facilitate AI-driven decision review and override capabilities.
Stay ahead of emerging content moderation challenges and regulatory changes, adapting models and systems accordingly.
Requirements:
Strong experience in AI/ML, particularly in model evaluation, performance analysis, and content moderation applications.
Proficiency in Python and experience with AWS services, including Rekognition, Comprehend, Bedrock, and Aurora.
Familiarity with serverless architectures using Lambda functions and API Gateway.
Hands-on experience with Databricks for data processing and analysis.
Ability to work across multiple content types (text, image, video) within a moderation framework.
Strong understanding of model quality assessment, ensuring fairness, accuracy, and compliance.
Versatility to contribute to both AI/ML development and backend integration.
Previous experience in automated content review systems is highly desirable.
Knowledge of regulatory requirements related to child safety and digital content compliance is a plus.

I joined the Arnia team in 2011 on the XpressEngine project (PHP based CMS, most popular in South-East Asia) and now I’m leading the team that develops our own CMS, Karybu.
